Ri Takes NY: Riann's 6th Birthday

My first mini-me, Riann, turned six! For her birthday we went to New York and New Jersey. She has tons of personality and New York is always one of her favorite places to visit.

WHERE WE STAYED:

Courtyard Edgewater (New Jersey): We’ve stayed here before and absolutely LOVE it! It’s a very clean and cozy feeling waterfront hotel. The pictures don’t do the space any justice. The views of the Hudson River are absolutely breathtaking. We also love that you can view the New York skyline. Another great thing about this hotel is that it’s surrounded by tons of restaurants and little shops and it's only minutes from NYC. Another great benefit is free parking! We love staying in New Jersey now when we travel to NYC with the kids as it provides us more space, easier parking, and fewer crowds than being directly in the city.

WHERE WE ATE:

Pier 115 Bar & Grill: We’ve eaten here before in the past and it’s a must visit. It’s minutes from the hotel and situated on the waterfront. You’ll have an amazing view from every angle. We went in summer 2020 and sat outside. This year since we went when it was colder, we sat inside. We LOVE the pizza. Seriously I’m daydreaming about it now. And the sangrias are so yummy!

While at the American Dream mall, I tried Grisini owned by Food Network personality Marc Murphy. I had a light salad, which was pretty good. For such a massive and great mall, I do wish they had more and better food court options. And also more restaurants (although I did see some "coming soon" signs).

WHERE WE PLAYED:

American Dream was the main activity and it did not disappoint. We spent half of the day in the waterpark and I can’t wait to go back. For a full breakdown of American Dream, read my blog post.

Riann also went shopping in Sephora. She loves playing in makeup and the staff were really helpful in helping her pick up a few items!
